Bridal Veil Falls

A fantastic walk that can be done in conjunction with Champage Falls.
You branch off a 4WD track that starts at the rear of the complex. THe track is the one used when the power generation scheme was installed and explains why there is some greater disturbance of the vegetation.
Following the track up the hill you will reach a lookout affording delightful views across the valley of Lake Cethana to Lorrina.
Further still there is a signpost to the falls. Follow this to the magnificent Bridal Veil Falls.

Champagne Falls

The 4WD drive at the back of the complex leads to the lookout over lake Cethana to Lorrina. Continue on and you will find the Champagne Falls turnoff, then decend down the bank to the falls.

Lake Barrington Estate

The vineyard was established in 1986, it would win any contest for the State’s loveliest vineyard, set on the banks of Lake Barrington. It’s very cool climate is proving to be perfect for sparkling wine and “Alexandra” is consistently one of the State’s best Methode Champenoise. Other wines include Chardonnay, Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon. Visitors are welcome at Lake Barrington Estate, where they can unfold a picnic hamper and enjoy the spectacular scenery of the area. The scenery is worthy of a trip to the vineyard, and the wine is, of course marvelous bonus. Owner is Maree Taylor a Launceston nutritionist with a passion for wine.

Lake Cethana

The walk starts at the junction just before turning into the Lodge. The walk takes about 2 hours. This is another good walk to take in the varieties of vegetation of the area.
After crossing 2 areas of cleared land the track crosses a fern gulley, beyond which there is more forest until the track finally terminates in the back water of the lake. This in itself is not spectacular but the walk more than compensates for it.
This walk is graded as hard because the return trip is a long haul back uphill.

The Fernglade Walk

Access to this track is directly in front of the Lodge, it is extremely pretty introduction to the botanical delights of this area and is an easy walk for all. It winds down the hill, through gllies of ferns and forest trees to track along Bull Creek, past our Turbine. It then climbs up the hill and comes out near the children's playhouse.
This walk will take 30 minutes along an all weather boardwalk track.
